Wetland Sedges are very important for erosion control and they provide shelter, food and nesting areas for many game birds, waterfowl, and songbirds. They also provide important winter forage for deer and other small mammals. Wetland sedges can be used as ground covers and as a possible lawn alternative for wet areas. Dragonflies and damselflies can be seen flying amongst the sedges looking to feast on the many insects it attracts.
