Explore the traditional art of making soap hands on. We will be making cold process soap from scratch and learning about the properties of the ingredients used including essential oils and herbs. You will leave with a recipe to try at home and some handcrafted soap.

Catherine Riley-Arenburg developed a deep appreciation ofthe natural world while growing up on a rural property in HaldimandCounty. An avid gardener, her loveof scents led her to explore soap making, and she has become a skilled creatorof high-end, all natural artisanal soaps. She has also presented workshops onsoap making and herbs, teaching people how to create their own natural personalcare products economically. Catherine has amassed considerable knowledge aboutalternative medicines, herbology and alternative healing practises, inspired inpart by her own and her husband's native ancestry. She has three years ofhands-on experience at Acorus Restoration in everything from seed gathering,seeding, potting, plantings, setting up deliveries, assisting in organizingplantings, filling orders, estimating, making recommendations and providingsuitable alternatives for substitutions and retail sales. She is a firmbeliever in excellent product knowledge and quality customer service and isready to assist Acorus customers with all their planting needs.
