Introduction to Yoga with Stephanie and Paul Morris

We are just beginning todiscover how far reaching the benefits of yoga are.  The practice of yoga helps to alleviate bothphysical and mental stress.  Practicingyoga is like giving yourself a deep tissue and emotional massage.  We will deepen our yoga practice throughfocusing on the breath, proper form, alignment and flow.

Paul Morris spent a great deal of time outdoors with his fatherand grandfather who would take him on their landscape painting trips. In hisyouth, these times fostered a passion for the outdoors and natural history.Later he completed his undergraduate degree at Waterloo University in biology and then went on to complete his Mastersat Acadia University in Nova Scotia. Those two years involved intensive greenhouse,laboratory and field research on native plants. His in-depth knowledge ofnative plants gives him insight into growing over 350 species of plants forrestoration projects. His extensive experience in wetland and prairierestoration ecology and conservation biology makes him a leader in the designand planting of restoration areas. In 1997, Environment Canada asked him toco-author a manual on prairie and meadow restoration. He continues to restoresections of his 95-acre farm and has completed numerous projects across Ontario, including Eco-parks, wastewater and storm waterponds, and naturalization for private homeowners. 

Paul is a certified Ashtanga Yoga and Restorative Yoga teacher and has been practicing for 7 years. 

Stephanie Morris works through her yoga and meditation practice toconnect with contentment and sacredness in everyday living.  She is a certified Ashtanga yoga teacher anda qualified school teacher, who has been teaching in the public system for thepast 7 years.  When not teaching or cloudgazing she is working towards the completion of a master’s degree incontemplative education.
